MU ADVANCES TO NIT QUARTERS WITH 101-92 WIN OVER OREGON

MILWAUKEE - Andrew Rowsey scored 29 and Marquette poured in a season-high 101 points in a 101-92 victory over Oregon on Sunday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center.

The Golden Eagles (21-13) advance to the NIT quarterfinals where they will take on fourth-seeded Penn State at either 6 or 8 p.m. Central time on Tuesday, March 20 at the Al McGuire Center.

Marquette led by as many as 25 points, but the Ducks made it close in the fourth quarter with a fullcourt press to disrupt MU's ballhandlers.

MU headed into the half with a 58-38 advantage as Rowsey posted 22 points before the break. He also tied his own career high with six 3-pointers in the first two quarters.

Markus Howard posted 18 points for the Golden Eagles, but fouled out in 20 minutes of action. Foul trouble hit MU late in the game as Howard, Matt Heldt and Sacar Anim all fouled out in the fourth quarter.

Freshman Greg Elliott and Theo John added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Golden Eagles, while MiKyle McIntosh posted a team-high 25 for the Ducks (23-13).
