Marquette downs Creighton, 91-83, on Senior Day

MILWAUKEE - Marquette sent Luke FischerJajuan Johnson and Katin Reinhardt off with a 91-83 victory over Creighton on Senior Day at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Johnson nailed 4-of-7 3-pointers in the first half and finished with a team-best 20 points in his final home game, while Fischer added 13 points and Reinhardt posted 12 points. Fischer's 13 points push him to 999 in his MU career and he can become the 46th player to reach the 1,000-point plateau with his next point.

With the victory, the Golden Eagles (19-11, 10-8 BIG EAST) reached double digit victories in conference action for the first time since 2013 and have secured the No. 4 seed in the league tournament. They will face fifth-seeded Seton Hall on Thursday, March 9 in the quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. Central time in a contest broadcast on FS1 from Madison Square Garden.

Khyri Thomas posted a career-high 23 points for the Bluejays (23-8, 10-8 BIG EAST), who are the No. 6 seed in the BIG EAST tournament and will face third-seeded Providence in the quarterfinals.

Following Saturday's game, Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski thanked the crowd before giving the microphone to Fischer to propose to his fiancée, who said 'yes.'
